UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), located in Mumbai, is a premier institute jointly set up by University of Mumbai and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. ### 2. Available Positions

**Post:** Ph.D. Programme (Full Time Junior Research Fellowships in Basic Sciences)
- **Number of Seats:** The number of seats allotted to this Ph.D. programme will be governed by CEBS fellowships, subject to the funds allotted by DAE vacancies.

### 3. General Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Ph.D. programme, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

- **Educational Qualifications:**
- M.Sc. in a relevant subject (such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Microbiology, etc.) from a recognized university/institute with at least **55% marks in aggregate** or equivalent grade.
- Additional eligibility requires a valid **CSIR-NET/JRF or similar national-level eligibility test** qualification as detailed in the official notification.

- **Age Limit:**
- Maximum: **28 years** as on **August 1, 2026**
- Relaxations in age limit will be provided as per statutory norms.
